Dr Kapoor told, “Brinjal has a high water content therefore the daily consumption and applications of brinjal can keep the skin hydrated and moisturised, thereby increasing the glow on the skin. Owing to its high water content, it can keep the skin free of toxins and impurities and hence keeps it a soft, smooth and radiant.”



She added that brinjal has a very vital ingredient called Chlorogenic acid, which reduces the danger of skin cancer. Even, the presence of antioxidants in brinjal supports the body to get rid of free radicals which tend to cause oxidative harm to the skin. This supports the body to keep various skin diseases and ailments at bay.



Here are few anti-ageing face masks using brinjal:


Mask 1

Utilizing brinjal toner is a great way to keep ageing signs at bay. Juice a  whole brinjal and add a few drops of witch hazel to it. Mix and transfer the content to a clean bottle and then put it in the refrigerator to keep it a fresh. Utilize it every morning before doing the regular makeup.


Mask 2

Take a cup of minced brinjal and put it in the glass jar. Pour one and half cups of an apple cider vinegar into it and then close the lid. Put the jar in the refrigerator for three - four  days until the apple cider vinegar changes its colour and turns dark. Take it out and apply the solution to the affected part  with a cotton ball. Repeat many times daily.



Mask 3

Cut one slice from a brinjal and shred it. Add the shredded brinjal to 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice and a tablespoon of an organic honey. Mix and then make a paste. Spread a layer on your face and wait till it obtains absorbed. Now apply the rest of the face mask and let it sit for fifteen - twenty minutes. Wipe it off with a damp cotton cloth and eventually wash the face with lukewarm water. Repeat 2 time a week.


Mask 4

Cut a quarter of a large brinjal. Chop it into little cubes and then put them in the blender. Blend and add 2 tbsp fresh, plain yogurt. Blend again to obtain a smooth paste. Apply it to the face and wait for fifteen - twenty minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.
