One nation one health card Yojana

After One Nation-One Ration Card, One Nation-One Tax, now One Nation-One Health Card is being prepared.  The central government may launch the National Digital Health Mission across the country this month.  Currently, the project is being piloted in Andaman-Nicobar, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar-Haveli, Daman-Diu, Ladakh and Lakshadweep.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National Digital Health Mission on 15 August 2020.

Let's understand, what is a health card?  How does it work?  How can you make it?  What documents will be required?  And what are you going to get out of this card ...

What is a health ID card?

If you go to the doctor now, take a file of reports with you.  This file contains your old test reports.  Think of the health ID card as a digital version of this file.  You will be given a unique ID of 14 points like your Aadhaar card.  This same ID will contain your entire health record.  This record will be connected to the central server.  Again, if you go for treatment at any time, you will have to show this card without showing previous reports.  The doctor will be able to treat you by knowing your medical history only with this card.

How to make a health card?

https://healthid.ndhm.gov.in/register Once the scheme starts you can also create your own health ID by going to this website.

The NDHM Health Record app is also available on the Google Play Store.  You can also register for Health ID through this app.

In addition, cards will be issued at government-private hospitals, community health centers, primary health centers and common service centers.

 What documents will be required?

Only two things are required - Aadhaar card and mobile number.  In addition, general information like name, year of birth, gender, address will have to be filled.  You do not need to submit any documents offline.  The whole process will be online.

Will there be a health card for children too?

Yes.  The same process will be used for ID cards for children.

How will the card benefit you?

The card will record all the information related to your health in digital format.  That means your entire medical history will be in the card.  Whenever you go to the hospital for treatment, you will find all the old records there in digital format.

Doctors will have complete information about your old illness, treatment history, what medications you are allergic to.  This will be of great help to doctors.

The doctor will realize many things just by looking at your medical record.  This will save time and money on new investigations.

How will new information be entered in the card?

The first time you create a card, you will have to update your medical records yourself.  All subsequent reports will be automatically uploaded after the card is created.

If you go for treatment and give your health ID number, your current treatment information will also be included automatically.

Will a single card work across the country?

Utterly.  You only have to make one card.  The server will link the card to hospitals across the country.  If you seek treatment in any hospital in the country, you will have to show only one ID.

Will your data be safe in the card?

The NDHM website states that your data will be stored on a central network with encryption.  Your consent will also be sought.

Also, when you go to a doctor for treatment, the doctor cannot see your data directly.  OTP will come on your mobile first.  Only after entering this OTP will the doctor be able to see your details.  The doctor cannot copy and edit this data.

Will it be necessary to create a health card for all?

No.  This is not inevitable right now.  Create if you want, if you don't want to.
