All schools have also been closed due to the worldwide lockdown. Examinations are held in schools in India in March and new classes start again in April. But due to the closure of the school, this time the children could not study. To solve this problem, especially private schools found a way to educate children through digital medium. In which online classes are being taught to children by forming WhatsApp groups. But the reading material that has been created or is being sent in these mediums has not been made keeping in mind the children.
Most of the schools are picking up old uploaded videos from place to place and sharing them with the children. Children are finding it difficult to understand because the material is not in conformity with the syllabus. By the way, many schools in the country are offering online education. But there are many schools which are not well equipped, so they are unable to get online education. Anyway, for online studies, it is necessary for children to have a mobile and laptop arrangement. When only 24% of the households in India have access to the Internet, the significance of online education itself is questioned.
online education problem
In such a situation, it is natural for the parents of students deprived of online education to be worried. In fact, the school management is trying that the children should not deviate from education during the lockdown. He should read his syllabus according to the new class. There are also many practical problems in online education, but when opening schools in lockdown is not free from danger, in such a situation, online class is a big help. During online studies, children have to sit at the screen for hours at home. Children are facing many challenges while studying online.
Equipment and internet problems
The medium of instruction of most of the private schools is English which is very difficult for these children to understand by themselves. Another major challenge is the lack of necessary resources for online classes for these children. Online classes require Android phone/computer/tablet, broadband connection, printer etc. Most of the rural children do not have the necessary equipment for digital classes due to poor financial condition of their families. Due to which they are not able to do classes while at present other classmates of these children are studying through online classes. Countable families would be the only ones who would have these devices.
National Sample Survey Report
An NGO named Local Circle has conducted a survey in which 23,000 people from 203 districts took part. Out of which 43% people said that they do not have things like computer, tablet, printer, router for online classes for children. Global study shows that only 24% of Indians own a smartphone. According to National Sample Survey Report 17-18, 11% of households have desktop computers/ laptops/ notebooks/ netbooks/ palmtops or tablets. According to this survey, only 24% of Indian households have internet access, of which 42 percent in urban households and only 15% in rural households have access to internet services.
Internet utility
Internet usage also varies from state to state, e.g. in states like Delhi, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand, more than 40% households have internet access, the same proportion in states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh. Less than 20%. WhatsApp groups are being created by the schools for digital education and the numbers given of the children in the school records are being added to it but these children do not have a phone, the numbers which are in the records are Belongs to someone elder in the family. Because these children do not have their own phones, but sometimes it also happens that there is one phone for the whole house and which is used the most by the head of the family, or if the phone does not have WhatsApp, then how will the children be able to read.

problems in rural areas
There is also a problem with the network. Due to the lockdown, the internet is being used a lot, due to which the speed has reduced, the family of these children also have less amount of net plan, due to which there is frequent interruption in the net, downloading of reading material It is taking more time, the quality is also bad which makes it difficult for children to read and understand it. Q.S. According to the survey, if we look at the problem of network, then the biggest problem in broadband / mobile is only poor connectivity, non-availability of electricity in rural areas is also a hindrance. Based on a survey of villages conducted by the Ministry of Rural Development in 2017-18, only 47% of households in India get electricity for more than 12 hours, 33% for 9-12 hours and 16% households get electricity for one to eight hours a day.
Institute Management
Yes, one thing is for sure that private educational institutions are charging its fees by pressurizing the parents. Private schools have issued notices on parents to buy new books and then deposit fees. Parents are also protesting against the fees on social media and WhatsApp. The Ministry of Human Resource Development should take this matter seriously. It is true that the management of the institute is also having to bear other expenses including salary, but due to lack of teaching work in the school or college, a lot of expenses will also be reduced. The government should coordinate and make arrangements to safeguard the economic interests of both the parties.
