Quality education is

 Co-education means boys and girls studying together in school.  Many conservative people in our country have been opposing co-education for a long time, but with the change of time, it is gradually being implemented.


 In this, the contribution of science is more, which has made a great effort to bring a change in its antiquated thinking to humans.  The history of co-education is not new to our country.  The practice of co-education was prevalent in the Gurukuls and Ashrams of ancient times.  In those days, men and women were seen equally.


 There are many examples of its prevalence from the scriptures and old elements of Hindu society, but after the arrival of Muslims in the country, the situation changed a lot.  Due to the prevalent purdah system in Muslim society, gradually the practice of co-education went extinct.


 Many scholars of the country and abroad have voted against it.  In opposition to this, an English educationist has said that "a man cannot study when he is near a woman."  In opposition, some others are of the opinion that co-education gives rise to anarchy in the environment.  Boys and girls are less attracted to studies due to opposite sex attraction but more towards love and confused environment.


 From time to time, reports of some selfish studies and illicit relations between students also give strong support to the opposition to co-education.  Some others have the belief that co-education creates an atmosphere of disorder in the school.  Some people have a disturbing belief that the possibility of deviation in the mind of students due to co-education is very high.


 On the other hand, there are many opinions in support of co-education.  Some of these popular views are as follows:


 1. With the use of co-education, attraction towards the opposite sex gradually becomes normal.  According to him, continuous use of something leads to indifference towards it.  Therefore, due to apathy, students can focus their energy more towards their studies or future.

 Some people have the belief that co-education is very useful from an economic point of view.  If there is a single institution instead of separate institutions for boys and girls, the expenditure can be reduced significantly.  Especially in a country like India where the economic condition is not strong, co-education is very useful.


 3. Some others hold the belief that mutual understanding between students increases by studying in the same institution.  This mutual understanding proves to be very useful for their household life.


 4. There is also an advantage of co-education that if the students of the same family get education in the same school, then the parents have to face less trouble.


 Change is not easy due to orthodox traditions in India but if gradually brought from school level to higher level then co-education can be made normal.  In today's progressive era, where women are giving equal support to men on the path of development, it becomes even more important that we rise above the petty mentality so that the benefits of co-education can be availed.


 Anyway, co-education has now gradually gained social recognition at such a level that it cannot be returned.  In the modern progressive society, more attention is being paid to the education of girls.


 Girls, on the other hand, are scoring better than boys at various levels, so it's no wonder that by the end of the twenty-first century, the percentage of girls' education worldwide exceeds that of boys.  In such a situation, the importance of co-education increases even more.
