Dwarkadhish temple flag History

 The flag is hoisted five times a day at the Dwarkadhish temple where electricity has fallen.  There is a tradition of hoisting a 52-yard flag at the top of the temple.  Which is sponsored by the devotees.  Advance bookings for the year 2023 have been made for hoisting the flag.  New booking is currently closed.  It is worth mentioning here that there are some interesting things related to Dwarkadhish temple and flag, including the time of hoisting the flag five times a day, the story behind the 52 yard flag, the importance of the moon and sun symbol, who is responsible for hoisting the flag and its booking method.

 Monopoly on the ascension of Aboti Brahmins

 Mangala Aarti of Dwarkadhish takes place at 7.30 am, Shrugar at 10.30 am, then at 11.30 am, and evening Aarti at 7.45 am and Shayan Aarti at 8.30 am.  During this time the flag is hoisted.  Worship of the temple is done by Aarti Gugli Brahmin.  After the pooja, the Aboti Brahmin of Dwarka hoists the flag.



 A big event is held to change the flag.  The family that sponsors the flag comes there.  They have flags in their hands.  It is dedicated to God.  From there the Aboti Brahmin takes him upstairs and changes the flag.  After hoisting a new flag, Aboti Brahmins have the right to the old flag. God's clothes etc. are made from its clothes.




 Why only 52 yards flag on Dwarkadhish temple?

 The flag hoisted at the Dwarkadhish temple can be clearly seen from several kilometers away, as the flag is 52 yards long.  There are many popular beliefs behind this 52 yard flag.  Some believe that Dwarkanagari was ruled by 56 types of Yadavs.  At that time everyone had their own palace and each had their own flag.  The temples of Lord Krishna, Balram, Aniruddha and Pradyumna are still built.  While a flag of 52 yards is hoisted on the temple of Lord Dwarkadhish as a symbol of other 52 types of Yadavas


 Another popular belief is that there are 52 signs including 12 zodiac signs, 27 constellations, 10 directions, Sun, Moon and Shri Dwarkadhish.  According to the third belief, there were 52 gates in Dwarka at one time.  It is also a symbol.  This flag of the temple is made by a special tailor.  It is forbidden to view the flag at the time it is changed.


 The flag symbolizes the moon and the sun

 The flag hoisted over the Dwarakadhish temple symbolizes the sun and the moon.  It is believed that the name of Dwarkadhish will remain as long as the Sun and Moon last. Dwarkadhish is one of the main religious places of Hindus.  Dwarka is one of the pilgrimages to Chardham in Hinduism.  Dwarkadhish Krishna's Temple in Dwarka Dwarkadhish Krishna's temple is on the spot where Lord Krishna's capital was thousands of years ago in the Dwapar era.  Dhaja worship is of special importance in this temple.  The specialty of this flag is that whatever the direction of the wind, this flag always flies from west to east.

 Advance booking for the year 2023

 Devotees offer flags in the temple of Lord Dwarkadhish and it is believed that the Lord showers blessings on them.  This is the reason why many devotees offer flags.  Advance bookings are made for flag hoisting.  Vatsyalbhai Purohit, trustee of the Google community in charge of service and worship at the Dwarka temple, says that the flag hoisting has been booked for the next two years, i.e. by the year 2023.  Bookings are currently closed for six months.  Booking can also be done via phone.


 The temple was not damaged by lightning

 Regarding the lightning strike, Vatsalbhai said that on Tuesday it rained with thunder and lightning fell on the peak of the temple.  However, the temple was not damaged.  It fell on the flag, so that the penalty of the flag is damaged.  The flag has been changed.  The flag has been reported to the Archaeological Department for repairs.
