Deep depression is active in the Arabian Sea and will become a hurricane in 12 hours.  Which will extend to the northwest.  It will move towards the coast of Gujarat.  On May 18, the hurricane will reach near the coast of Gujarat.  Fishermen have been instructed not to plow the sea.

The meteorological department estimates that the storm will reach near the coast of Gujarat on May 18.  Then the sea waves will increase in intensity and the wind will blow at a speed of 90 to 100 kmph.  The hurricane will change the weather in Gujarat and bring rain in some areas.  The impact of the hurricane will be felt in some areas from May 15.  According to Manorama Mohanty, Director, Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains are likely in some parts of Gujarat from May 16 to 18.

 On May 16, Ahmedabad, Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Porbandar, Rajkot, Tapi Valsad and Navsari will receive moderate to moderate rains.  Heavy rains are forecast in Gir Somnath and Diu.

 Heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in Banaskantha, Kutch, Devbhumi, Dwarka, Morbi, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Kheda and Patan on May 17.
